Equal Rights?

There is a battle going on.  It is about equal rights for gays.  This battle has been going on for years to be honest.  This of course is a touchy matter.  However, lets look at this in a Biblical way.

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Leviticus 18:22 (KJV)

Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable. Leviticus 18:22 (NIV)

I know, they are the same verse, written two different ways.  But it is obvious that God frowns on this act.  Especially when you read this next one:

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 20:13 (KJV)

13 “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. Leviticus 20:13 (NIV)

It is beyond obvious that this is not an act that God enjoys.  In the Bible, he calls for us to go out and multiply… how can you multiply unless you have a man and woman together?

However, in the same book…. it is written about not wearing two different cloths together and such.  So, what does this mean?  Well… being gay is a sin.  No ands ifs or buts about it.  Now, should we accept them being gay… well, what does the Bible say to do when you see some one sinning?  Do you walk away?  Uh, no.  We are to approach them and try to help them stop committing this sin.  No sin is greater then the other sin though, and Jesus died for our sins to be forgiven.  Does that mean we are now allowed to go out and show off our sins?  Keep doing them over and over again?  The answer is simple… no.  Paul stated in the letter he wrote;

8:Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. 1 Corinthians 7:8(NIV)

I take this as also to help gays from committing the sin that is in their “needs” They should be like Paul was.  Stay alone and learn more about the Bible.  Feed off the Bible and pray for God to take this sin that is in your heart out of you.  Is it easy?  No.  If you want to have favor in God’s eyes, we ALL must turn from our sins and dive into the love from God.  Have people converted from being gay, yes.  Do you have to… no, but you must turn from the act of the sin.  You must flee from it.

Now, some of you may think, “I (my loved one) was born this way.  They can not help it.  Well, here is my answer to that:  We are ALL born with sin.  Many different types of sin, but sin nevertheless.  I was born with my own sin that I am fleeing from.  I try to look at my sin and think; “Is this worth another stab at my savior?”  People, fleeing from your sins is not easy… and you CAN NOT do it alone.  This is where I get the “I am not going to share my sins with others!”  Every step you take, every breathe you inhale… is not with out some one being there.  God is always there.  Just pray to him through Jesus to clean you of your sins and MEAN IT!  God knows what is in your heart!  He knows when you pick up the pen someone dropped, if you did it as an act of pure kindness or to feel better about yourself.  He knows EVERYTHING!

So, all in all, sin is NOT easy to flee from.  Sin will always haunt you.  But we are told to flee from it in the Bible.  Here is a list of MANY translations of Bibles on the verse: 2 Timothy 2:22

No matter how you see it, we are to flee from the sin of evil desires.  We are to pursue righteous.  Yes, that means fleeing from being gay.  Is it easy… NO NO NO!  Can it be done?  YES YES YES!!!  I have seen people stop sleeping with their own sex.  Does that mean they hopped into bed with a woman?  No.  Some do, some do not.  Is it pleasing to the Lord to turn from any sin?  Yes.
